While it may be hard to grasp buzzy concepts like Bitcoin, cryptocurrency and non fungible tokens (NFTs), the world is moving toward these decentralized blockchain-based technologies, entrepreneur and blockchain expert Samantha Radocchia said Tuesday in her keynote address at the Milwaukee Jewish Federation's 2022 Economic Forum.
Understanding emerging technologies and their implications for society requires a mindset shift akin to the one required to switch from paper maps to smartphone apps, she told an audience at The Pfister Hotel that included business, philanthropic and government leaders ranging from Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson to attorney David Gruber of Gruber Law Offices LLC.

"Decentralization is this paradigm shift," Radocchia said. "It's so much beyond blockchains, beyond cryptocurrencies... There's a much broader macroeconomic, and broader even than that, sociocultural shift taking place."
