Evidence is in: China courts use blockchain platform to store data - Forkast News

China’s judicial blockchain platform has stored more than 2.6 billion pieces of evidence, a Supreme People’s Court spokesman said at a press conference on Thursday, according to a report by the local media Legal Daily.

The amount of evidence stored on the judicial blockchain platform has increased by 18% since May 25, 2022.
Shang Chenglin, chief engineer of the Supreme Court Information Center, said the Supreme Court is further studying the application of blockchain evidence verification, smart contracts and cross-chain collaboration, along with the Supreme People’s Procuratorate and the Ministry of Justice, according to the report.
The judicial blockchain platform is a blockchain consortium initiated by the Supreme Court of China, which connects the blockchains belonging to various local courts in China.
