The cryptocurrency exchange has been dramatically downsizing its marketing deals and headcount in the wake of crypto winter

May 7 was a joyous day at Crypto.com. It was the weekend of the Miami Grand Prix, a pivotal Formula One race for which the cryptocurrency exchange was title sponsor, and had gone all out with on-site advertisements, an exhibition space and a collection of NFTs. The firm had also just announced it reached the 50-million user mark. Meanwhile, its latest TV commercial was airing across the U.S. and benefiting from increased attention as NBA star Joel Embiid, the focus of the ad, was in the midst of playing in the Eastern Conference Finals.
